Could You Walk For South Sudanese Churches?

As many of our regular readers will know, John has been invited to lead a Church Workers’ Conference for Africa Inland Church – South Sudan (AIC-SS), to be held in Adjumani, northern Uganda, in September. As part of the fundraising for this event, he was committed to, and preparing for, a marathon walk in the summer but has, unfortunately incurred a knee injury which will make this impossible.

However, a supporter has come up with the brilliant suggestion that others could do sponsored walks instead of him, and thereby raise finances for the conference. So, could you walk for South Sudanese churches?

You don’t need to commit to walking 26 miles! However short or long a distance you plan for, invite family, friends, colleagues or church members to sponsor you, and every penny raised will facilitate delegates to attend the conference and cover conferences expenses.

I will provide you with a sponsorship form, with a leaflet to give to sponsors telling them about what the money is being raised for and also a metal badge – like the image above. Please contact me if you would like to take part in this venture.

Bishop John Kongi, one of the AIC-SS leaders says

We are preparing for the upcoming Church Workers’ Conference in Adjumani, Northern Uganda, a vital gathering to equip and strengthen those who serve faithfully in our churches. Many of these workers minister tirelessly with very limited resources, and they cannot afford to cover the costs of such training themselves. Your support will help provide teaching, encouragement, and practical tools that will empower them to continue serving vulnerable communities with renewed strength and vision. By contributing, you are investing directly in the growth and health of South Sudanese churches in South Sudan and Uganda. We humbly ask you to prayerfully consider giving towards this cause. Together, we can ensure that our brothers and sisters are equipped for the great work God has entrusted to them.
