First, I am thrilled to say that we are just over one-third of the way to our £6,000 goal which will enable 50 church workers from the Africa Inland Church – South Sudan (AIC-SS) to attend the conference and have full board and the conference itself for the 5 days. Please pray that the goal will be achieved soon.

Secondly, the turmoil currently taking place in the middle east is creating great difficulty in making travel plans and is also likely to significantly increase my own travel costs. All of these things are, of course, under the Lord’s providential sovereignty.
Thirdly, let me tell you the latest plans for the conference. All being well, I plan to fly to Kampala, Uganda, on Thursday 3rd September and then travel by road with some of the church leaders to Adjumani on the 4th; a journey of about 8-9 hours. After a day of some rest on the Saturday (5th), I will be preaching in one of the local churches on the Sunday and spending time with different church leaders and groups of believers. On the Monday (7th), delegates will begin to arrive, and our first ministry session will be that evening. From Tuesday to Friday, I will have 3 ministry sessions each day and next time I write I will give you more information about that. There is supposed to be a rest day on the Saturday (12th), though the reality is that this too will be busy with meetings. I will again be preaching locally on the Sunday, travelling back to Kampala on the Monday, flying back to UK on the Tuesday, and probably arriving in Edinburgh in the very early hours of Wednesday 16th September.
Lastly, I would value prayer personally because having committed myself to do a marathon walk in the summer, I am having some difficulties caused by two conditions with my left leg, both of which I have had in the past but both of which have recurred. I have peripheral arterial disease which causes pain the lower leg when walking, and a meniscal cyst on my knee joint. Ironically, the first is treated with exercise and the second with rest! I am praying that these will pass relatively soon and enable me to walk increasing distances over the coming weeks. At the moment I am aiming to walk 4-5 miles a day but have worked out a plan for the next 5 months to steadily increase that.
Thank you again and if you can share this information with others who might be in a position to support the work, I would be very grateful.
My heartfelt thanks to you for your support, both financial and prayerful.

Donations can still be made here.
