This coming Lord’s Day I am excited to be beginning a new sermon series on a book I’ve not preached through before: 1 Timothy. I’m calling the series How to Behave in Church, based on what I see as being the key verses of this letter:
“I hope to come to you soon, but I am writing these things to you so that, if I delay, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, a pillar and buttress of the truth.”
1 Timothy 3:14-15
One of the main reasons I believe this to be the right book to preach through is that I will be doing so in two small, vacant, local churches where I preach on a very regular basis and where I am seeking to guide them as they move forward.
Even though I have been preaching for more than 50 years now, I still get a very real thrill at digging into new scriptural material and I would covet your prayers as I tackle 1 Timothy in the coming months. I will post recordings on the Sermons page of this site.
