The online Bible teaching ministry of John Brand

Another Dark Day for the Church in Scotland

If anyone was in any doubt as to the downward spiral of spiritual degeneration that the Church of Scotland continues to take they need look no further than the news concerning St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh.   The Church where John Knox was Minister from 1559 and which is also known as ‘the High Kirk of Edinburgh’ and the ‘Cradle of Presbyterianism’ is set to appoint Rev Scott Rennie as their next Minister.  Rennie was the first openly gay Church of Scotland Minister and it was his appointment to a congregation in Aberdeen that began the controversy which led to the Church of Scotland accepting and recognising same sex Ministers within the Kirk.    So far has the Church of Scotland apostasised that the building which hosts national and state events, as well as the ongoing weekly activities, will now have in the same pulpit in which Knox boldly preached the gospel a man whose life style, though acceptable to the Kirk, is an abomination in the eyes of God.

“O Lord, I have heard the report of you, and your work, O Lord, do I fear.  In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.” (Habakkuk 3:2)
